Before you ship

Contact ITS first — before anything goes in a box. A short conversation about the device and the problem makes sure mail-in is the right path, and helps ITS look out for your package when it arrives.

  • Contact ITS by phone, email, or the Request Service form
  • Back up your data if the device still works and this isn’t a data-recovery case
  • Completely shut the device down — never ship a sleeping or hibernating laptop

The Process

Shipping your device in ten steps

Contact ITS

Reach out before shipping: call 534-200-5555, email info@itscomputerrepair.com, or use the Request Service form. Describe the device and the problem so ITS knows what to expect.

Back up data if possible

If the device operates normally and this is not a data-recovery case, back up anything important before shipment. If the device is failing and data recovery is the goal, skip this step — continued use can make recovery harder.

Shut the device down

Completely power off the equipment. Laptops should be fully shut down — do not ship a computer that is sleeping or hibernating.

Limit accessories

Do not include unnecessary accessories unless ITS asks for them. An AC adapter or charger may be requested depending on the problem — confirm what to include when you contact ITS.

Protect the device

Wrap the device in several inches of quality bubble wrap or equivalent protective material. Pay special attention to corners, edges, the display, and the chassis. The device should never contact the exterior walls of the shipping box.

Use a strong box

Choose a sturdy shipping box with room for padding on all sides. Fill all empty space with appropriate packing material so the device cannot move inside the box during transit.

Include your information

Place a note inside the package with:

  • Your name, phone number, and email
  • Return shipping address
  • Device manufacturer and model
  • A description of the problem
  • Your service-request number, if one has been issued

Ship with tracking

Use a shipping method that provides tracking, and consider shipping insurance appropriate to the value of the device. Share the tracking number with ITS if you can.

ITS evaluation

Once your equipment arrives, ITS evaluates it and contacts you with the findings. You’ll get a clear explanation of the problem and the available options. Nothing proceeds beyond the agreed diagnostic process without your approval.

Return shipping

After any approved work is completed, return shipping arrangements are made with you directly.

Policies & pricing. Diagnostic fees, shipping charges, turnaround estimates, and related policies are still being finalized and will be published on this page as they’re established. For now, all of these details are discussed with you directly before any work begins.
